Analisando uma época desportiva, é tempo de olhar para os números. Sempre me disseram que as estatísticas serviam para alguma coisa. Vamos ver os dados, dos chamados três grandes.

1º - FC Porto:
Taça de Portugal: 1J 0V 0E 1D (0M - 1S)
Liga BWin : 30J 22V 3E 5D (65M - 20S)
Liga Campeões : 8J 3V 3E 2D (11M - 7 S)

Totais : 39J 25v 6E 8D (76M - 28S) 81P

2º Sporting:
Taça de Portugal: 6J 6V 0E 0D (16M - 4S)
Liga BWin : 30J 20V 8E 2D (54M-15S)
Liga dos Campeões : 6J 1V 2E 3D (3M -6S)

Total : 42J 27V 10E 5D (73M-25S) 91P

3º Benfica:
Taça de Portugal: 3J 2V 0E 1 D (8M - 3S)
Liga Bwin : 30J 20V 7E 3D (55M - 20S)
Liga Campeões : 8J 3V 2E 3D (11M - 9 S)
Taça UEFA : 6J 3V 1E 2D (9M - 7S)

Totais : 47J 28V 10E 9D (83M - 39S) 94P

Observando com atenção os dados estatísticos temos o campeão da BWin Liga com tantas derrotas, quanto os 2º e 3º classificados juntos e com “apenas” 39 jogos esta época! Depois temos um Sporting com a impressionante marca de 16 golos em 6 jogos da Taça de Portugal, só é pena os responsáveis darem-se pelo nome de Pinhalnovense, U.Madeira e ainda as vitórias 2-1 caseiras sob as super equipas Rio Ave, Académica e Beira-Mar… Em termos de jogos esta época, fizeram 42 com a sensação que o 4º lugar da Liga dos Campeões dava acesso à Taça Uefa!
Por fim temos um Benfica eliminado precocemente da Taça de Portugal por um Varzim mas mesmo assim faz 47 jogos esta época, mais 8 que o Porto e 5 que o Sporting.
Concluindo, note-se que Porto e Sporting ganham dois títulos mas quer queiram, quer não, a nível estatístico é o Benfica quem faz mais pontos.
